WHK Waterfront Urban Renewal on Tuesday said construction of its luxury development known as 1800 Avenue at Port Imperial in Weehawken is currently underway and expected to be completed by summer 2026.
Benefit Street Partners is providing the project’s financing, with an aggregate loan amount of $210 million bifurcated between a senior loan of $157.5 million and a mezzanine loan of $52.5 million, bringing the total estimated development cost to $313.2 million.
The 1800 Avenue project, designed by Handel Architects, will offer 282 luxury residential units for sale. The development will include 45,000 square feet of amenities, such as a lounge, spa, fitness center, half-basketball court, multimedia room, kids’ room, game room, library and coworking space. Outdoor amenities will include a pool, dining and kitchen stations, a sun deck, a fire pit and lounge seating.
Additionally, Plaza Construction just confirmed its role on the project as general contractor.
This development highlights the potential of this prime location and offers future residents a unique blend of luxury, convenience and modernity. The surrounding neighborhood of Port Imperial offers 2.5 miles of waterfront residential and commercial development on the Hudson River, directly across from Midtown Manhattan.
“We are proud to partner with the team at WHK Waterfront Urban Renewal LLC, and to collaborate with talented consulting professionals such as Handel Architects, DiSimone Consulting Engineering and Thomas Polise Consulting Engineers. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to excellence, and we are excited to be a part of this exclusive development along the Weehawken waterfront,” Thomas D’Ercole, executive vice president and regional director of Plaza Construction, said.
David Wei, CEO of WHK Waterfront Urban Renewal LLC, added: “We are thrilled to introduce 1800, a new bar-setting building that boasts a unique design featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with curved edges throughout. The all-glass façade not only offers stunning panoramic views of the New York City skyline, but also creates a modern and sleek aesthetic that sets this building apart from the rest. This project is poised to be a game-changer for not just the township, but also the Hudson Palisades and the Hudson Waterfront.”
Christie’s International Real Estate Group is signed on as the exclusive selling and marketing agent for all of the property’s units.
