Approximately one in six workers in the state is a member of a union — making New Jersey the sixth most unionized state in the country.
The number is going up, too.
The percentage of union workers increased to 16.1% in 2023 from 14.9% in 2022 — a statistic that defies the national average of just over 10% (and dropping).
