Full-service architecture and engineering firm LAN Associates, based in Midland Park, recently expanded its leadership team when it elevated two of its personnel to officers. Assistant Vice President Matthew Webb, who leads LAN’s surveying team and Vernon office, and Assistant Vice President Ron Schwenke, who is the architect in charge of LAN’s Voorhees office, have both been promoted to the position of vice president.
Over the past few years, LAN Associates has been steadily growing its core service offerings and expanding its geographic presence. Webb and Schwenke have both played a major role in that success.
Webb has over two decades of experience in surveying. He joined LAN Associates in 2001 as a high school student, and, while at the firm, pursued a degree in surveying engineering technology and obtained his surveying license. In 2009, he became the director of LAN’s surveying department and subsequently grew the department to service not only LAN’s internal architecture and engineering projects but a long list of direct clients, contractors, title services companies and more.
“Matt plays a major role in LAN’s success, not only by establishing the basis of many of LAN’s architecture and engineering projects by providing survey plans, but also by helping drive overall company growth,” LAN President Thomas Wighard said. “His natural leadership abilities, efficiencies in delivering services and business insights have always made our surveying department a top performer. Matt is the ideal person to take a leadership role in defining the future of LAN.”
Schwenke joined the LAN team in 2018 and was tasked with establishing a Southern Jersey/Philadelphia presence. After a brief but successful time running an office out of Philadelphia that was cut short by COVID-19 shutdowns, a calculated decision was made to relocate the office to Voorhees, where Schwenke and his team have seen tremendous success. His business development and leadership skills helped the newly opened office grow its clientele to include over a dozen local school districts, several local townships, housing authorities and a number of private clients.
“Ron is a key contributor to the firm’s business development strategies, including involvement in numerous business organizations, marketing efforts and fostering and maintaining client relationships,” LAN CEO Ron Panicucci said. “He understands the business side of the service industry and recognizes the importance of work product flow. His work has made LAN’s Voorhees location a thriving business, and, in recognition of that, we welcome him as a new member of the officer team.”
