Little Egg Harbor assisted living community is 1st in state to receive Joint Commission accreditation

The Terraces at Seacrest Village has become the first senior living community in New Jersey to earn Assisted Living Community Accreditation from the Joint Commission, the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. This prestigious achievement is a quality marker for the Little Egg Harbor community, which offers assisted living, memory care and respite care.

“The Terraces at Seacrest Village is proud to be New Jersey’s inaugural Joint Commission ALC-accredited community,” Wendy Becker, executive director, said. “This is a visible demonstration to our residents, staff and the community of our dedication to going above and beyond to not only deliver, but continuously improve, the care and services we provide.”

The Terraces at Seacrest Village benefits from the support of Brick-based Marquis Health Consulting Services.

The Joint Commission’s ALC Accreditation Program launched in mid-2021 to help assisted living organizations deliver consistent and reliable care for residents. The ALC Accreditation peer review standards were developed with consideration of scientific evidence and best practices, as well as state regulations and Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services Life Safety Codes. Experts in the field of geriatrics, dementia care, rehabilitation, infection control and senior housing were actively engaged in a collaborative effort to design standards that align with quality care delivery and safe practices.

Andrew Aronson, CEO and president of the Health Care Association of New Jersey, offered his commendation on the achievement.

“On behalf of HCANJ, I congratulate Wendy and the entire team at Marquis for this achievement,” he said. “The team’s dedication to quality and continuous improvement benefits residents, staff and community at the Terraces at Seacrest Village.”

Located at 281 Mathistown Road, the Terraces at Seacrest Village has a well-established reputation for exceptional, compassionate care.

“The Joint Commission and U.S. News achievements both are testaments to Wendy and her incredible team at the Terraces at Seacrest Village,” Alan Eserner, vice president of operations at Marquis, said. “Both Seacrest and Marquis are committed to reaching — and upholding — the highest standards of excellence in senior living; having that recognized is always gratifying.”
