Samsung Electronics America is planning to move its North America headquarters from Ridgefield Park to Englewood Cliffs in 2025, the company announced Thursday.

The announcement comes a day after Unilever announced it is moving its North American headquarters from Englewood Cliffs to Hoboken — though it’s unclear if the two announcements are connected.

Samsung officials would not comment on whether the company will be taking any of the space that Unilever is leaving — though the quick turnaround seemingly would make that a challenge.

Samsung issued the following statement:

“The move marks an exciting new chapter, and we are proud to continue to operate in Bergen County,” the statement said.

Samsung currently has 48,000 square feet at the Overpeck Corporate Center located at 85 Challenger Road. The company signed a 10-year lease at the property at the end of 2019.

The status of that lease — signed with the KABR Group — is unclear, but the office park was sold to Asia Investment Management, a Korean firm, in 2020.
