Sixers, Rutgers-Camden sign agreement on internships

This is not the update on the state’s efforts to lure the Philadelphia 76ers to Camden many are looking for, but if you’re a student at Rutgers-Camden, it may be even more impactful.

Earlier this week, officials from the Sixers and Rutgers-Camden signed a memorandum of understanding that created internship opportunities for talented students from Rutgers-Camden to work with the 76ers for a semester.

Sixers VP of Human Resources Magda Moncrief and Rutgers-Camden Chancellor Antonio Tillis not only signed the agreement, but they welcomed the three students embarking on their semester-long journey with the 76ers.

The students will join the 76ers and contribute in the content, finance and I.T. departments.

Following the ceremony, Sixers Chief Operating Officer Lara Price brought the group on a tour of the Philadelphia 76ers Penn Medicine Training Complex to preview the space where they will be working.

This program is part of the Sixers’ ongoing commitment to create opportunities and engage the local community. Sixers officials said they will continue to elevate this experience for future Rutgers-Camden students.
