Blake Recovery Center in Belle Meade, part of Hackensack Meridian Health, was ranked No. 1 by Newsweek on the list of Best Addiction Treatments in New Jersey.
HMH CEO Bob Garrett said the system is thrilled to earn the recognition in an area where there is so much need. Nearly 1 in 5 Americans struggle with mental illness and substance use disorder, yet many diagnosed with clinical-level conditions do not get treatment.

This is the fourth time Blake, which admitted 481 patients in 2023, has been No. 1 in the state since Newsweek published its inaugural list in 2020.
Kenny Esser, Carrier Clinic’s acting president and the chief hospital executive for behavioral health at HMH, said the work the center does has great impact.
