Great Falls’ Military Assistance Pantry receives $10,000 donation from Amazon

The Great Falls Rotary Foundation’s Military Assistance Pantry (MAP) reported this week that Amazon donated $10,000 to its efforts to aid military veterans.

The rotary says it will use the money to purchase items such as fresh vegetables and meat as well as provide rent and medical expense relief, for veterans across the counties of Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic, Union and Sussex.

The pantry began in 2018 by providing food and clothing for local veterans. It has since expanded it reach into the neighboring counties.

The Military Assistance Pantry partners with local churches, veteran organizations, and various companies that donate food and supplies.

While canned goods are often donated, the $10,000 from Amazon will allow them to provide more nutritional options like fresh fruits and vegetables starting next year.
