Highgate at Livingston, the newest community from Continental Properties and Garden Homes, recently held a ribbon cutting celebration to mark the official opening of its 169-unit luxury apartment building in Essex County. The grand opening also served as a launch point to announce its new commitment to Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors [LNHN], a local nonprofit that helps families in the community who are struggling with unexpected hardship and nutrition needs.
“When we decided to develop Highgate at Livingston, it wasn’t just about bringing a new level and lifestyle of living to the township — but we also wanted to become part of the community by giving back and getting our residents to help the community in whatever way possible,” Fred Petak of Continental Properties, said. “With our new connection with Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors, we are demonstrating our commitment to giving back to the Livingston community.”
Members of Town Council, current residents, Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors, and staff from Continental Properties and Garden Communities joined in the grand opening celebration which also provided tours of the property and an open house.
“We are incredibly grateful to have Highgate at Livingston participating in our efforts to help families in our community who face unexpected hardship. We are all volunteers and have a passion for helping these families in need — and having this extra help goes a long way,” Martha Ackermann of Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors said. “With this donation, we will be able to launch a new food distribution on New Year’s Day to our families that makes sure they start off 2025 in the right direction.”
Highgate offers one-, two-, and three-bedroom units with 9- or 10-foot ceilings, spacious floor plans, modern kitchen appliances with ample countertop space, balconies or patios, spa-inspired bathrooms, and in-unit washer and dryers. The property also features a full-size pool with a sun shelf and cabanas, open green space with outdoor games, covered outdoor bar areas with TVs, barbecue grills, and a separate dog park that includes a pet spa and washing station.
The building also includes a full-size fitness center, indoor club room with game areas, catering kitchen and bar, private dining rooms and coworking spaces, pool and foosball tables, a dedicated yoga room, and coffee bar. The property is centered around living a healthy lifestyle for both professionals and people who may be selling their home in Livingston but also still want to live in town while staying close to family and friends.”
“With its opening, Highgate is now the best Class-A apartment development in Livingston,” Petak said. “With the added convenience of being accessible from major highways and in close proximity to the South Orange NJ Transit Train Station for direct service to Manhattan, Highgate is a luxury living experience for commuters, hybrid or remote workers, or people looking to stay or relocate to Livingston who are seeking a luxury housing alternative to a single-family home.
