Englewood is only hospital in NJ To receive top overall score for its TAVR program

The Structural Heart and Valve Program at Englewood Hospital has earned a prestigious three-star rating from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the American College of Cardiology for transcatheter aortic valve replacement procedures.

This rating represents the highest possible quality score and positions Englewood Hospital as the only hospital in New Jersey to receive the top overall rating for TAVR for two consecutive years.

The most recent rating comes from the STS/ACC TVT Registry, which highlights the hospital’s ongoing excellence in TAVR procedures.

Englewood Hospital is recognized alongside four New York City facilities as the only hospitals in the tri-state area to receive 3 stars for TAVR this rating period.

Dr. Ramin Hastings, medical director of the Structural Heart and Valve Program at Englewood Hospital, obviously was thrilled.

“Taking care of patients with advanced aortic valve disease is challenging, and achieving this top-quality score is a reflection of the commitment of our entire team to pursuing the best possible outcomes for our patients,” he said. “This 3-star rating, based exclusively on clinical outcomes, is a testament to Englewood Hospital’s unmatched quality of care for TAVR patients in New Jersey.”

The recognition – and treatment – are important.

Aortic valve disease is a life-threatening condition that requires precise and advanced medical care. According to the American Heart Association, more than 12% of older Americans have aortic stenosis, which can lead to heart failure if left untreated.

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) offers a minimally invasive treatment option, improving survival rates and quality of life for high-risk patients.

Receiving the highest rating from the STS/ACC means that Englewood Hospital consistently delivers superior outcomes in TAVR procedures, setting the standard for safety, effectiveness, and patient care. This recognition further underscores the hospital’s leadership in providing cutting-edge interventions for patients with severe heart conditions.
