Camden Community Partnership awarded $50K from BofA to support neighborhood engagement programs

Camden Community Partnership (CCP) said it was awarded a $50,000 grant from Bank of America (BofA). The grant will further support the various programs offered through the organization’s Connect the Lots series and advance neighborhood park revitalization efforts.

“For the past four decades, CCP has built a foundation of trust with the community by offering various programs and initiatives that truly enhance their quality of life,” Camden Mayor Victor Carstarphen and CCP co-chair said. “This $50,000 grant ensures that we continue these efforts, whether it’s through lunchtime concerts, movie nights, outdoor fitness classes, I PADDLE, and other activities in our parks and open spaces. We appreciate Bank of America’s generous support and continued investment in the City of Camden.”

The grant is part of Bank of America’s philanthropic giving efforts in local communities. Awardees were selected for their commitment to address basic needs and workforce development for individuals and families.

“At Bank of America, we are committed to strengthening the communities we serve,” Jim Dever, president of Bank of America Greater Philadelphia, said. “Camden Community Partnership’s Connect the Lots programs are an excellent example of how thoughtfully designed public spaces can bring people together and create lasting, positive change.”

Over the past few years, the popularity of parks, trails, and open spaces in the City of Camden has grown exponentially. This growth in usage and corresponding programming reinforces a regional trend in the critical importance to urban communities such as Camden. Coming out of the pandemic, equitable access and inclusive programming to the City’s parks have strengthened our neighborhoods and made them more attractive to live, enjoy, and work.

“We are incredibly grateful to receive this $50,000 grant from Bank of America which will enable us to advance our neighborhood park revitalization efforts and expand access to healthy outdoor activities,” Mark McDonough, president of New Jersey American Water and CCP Co-Chair, said. “This support not only strengthens our community but also nurtures a passion for nature and wellness among our residents. Thank you, Bank of America, for believing in our mission!”
