LaFevre named director of government affairs for N.J. chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors

Andrew LaFevre was named director of government affairs for the Associated Builders and Contractors New Jersey Chapter, the group announced Monday.

In this role, LaFevre will oversee all state and federal legislative and regulatory issues for its membership.

LaFevre is an accomplished government and public affairs professional with extensive experience in government relations, policy development, and advocacy. In his previous role at the New Jersey State League of Municipalities, he coordinated legislative activities and served as a key liaison for municipalities across sectors such as energy, transportation, hospitality, and criminal justice reform.

CEO Samantha DeAlmeida Roman applauded the announcement.

“Andrew is a highly respected public affairs professional in the Statehouse, with an extensive knowledge of many important and diverse policy areas,” she said. “Andrew will be a strong voice for labor and construction issues in New Jersey, serving on the frontlines in advocating for our member companies.”

LaFevre said he’s eager to join the team.

“I’m thrilled to join ABC New Jersey, the state’s leading construction and labor trade association,” he said. “I look forward to working with this talented team and supporting the best interests of merit shop firms and contractors.”

Previously, as the director of Government Affairs for the New Jersey Restaurant and Hospitality Association, LaFevre represented New Jersey’s second-largest private sector employer, leading policy development and advocacy efforts. His early career includes roles at the National Restaurant Association and Princeton Public Affairs Group, where he gained foundational experience in government and public affairs.

He graduated from Kutztown University with degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice, along with a minor in Communications.
