Riker Danzig to host CLE event for in-house counsel, covering ethics, data privacy, and DEI

Riker Danzig will host a half-day Continuing Legal Education (CLE) event designed specifically for in-house legal counsel. This event, scheduled for Nov. 20, offers three engaging and informative sessions addressing key topics of interest: attorney ethics, data privacy, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

A cocktail reception will follow the program, providing a valuable networking opportunity for all attendees. There is no fee to register, but space is limited.

1:30 Session 1 – Hot Topics in Ethics for In-House Counsel
Presented by: Stuart M. Lederman, Partner and Chair of Riker Danzig’s Ethics Committee and Alexa Richman-La Londe, Partner and member of Riker Danzig’s Ethics Committee CLE Credit: 1.6 New Jersey CLE and 1.5 New York CLE (reciprocal).

In this session, Lederman and Richman-La Londe will explore the ethical rules that apply to in-house counsel (“IHCs”) and provide insights on the ethics issues that in-house lawyers confront on a regular basis. Topics to be discussed will include:

  • The Rules of Professional Conduct that are applicable to IHCs
  • The attorney-client privilege and IHCs
  • Communications with a person represented by counsel in the corporate counseling context
  • IHC ethical issues in the context of litigation
  • IHC ethical issues in the context of internal investigations
