ImageCare Radiology on Thursday announced a strategic decision to exit its hospital-based practice to focus on growing its outpatient presence in the state. The decision will impact ImageCare’s services provided at Atlantic Health System’s Hackettstown and Newton Medical Centers effective immediately.
The Hackettstown-based radiology and imaging center said its outpatient practice has experienced significant growth in recent years.
The independent practice encompasses 23 outpatient centers across northern and central New Jersey, including the opening of three new locations over the past three years. Another two locations are slated to open in 2025 as the practice continues to expand its reach and impact in the region.
“While we are proud to have provided expert patient care at Hackettstown and Newton hospitals for more than 30 years, this shift marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for ImageCare and our patients,” Dr. Clay Hinrichs, ImageCare’s president said. “The move will enable our physicians and staff to focus on what we do best – providing expert diagnostic imaging services and care in our comfortable, patient-centered outpatient facilities across the community. We remain committed to delivering exceptional diagnostic expertise, rapid reporting, and seamless communication at each of our centers.”
ImageCare’s outpatient facilities utilize state-of-the-art imaging technologies to support efficient and accurate diagnostics. The practice offers a full spectrum of advanced diagnostic imaging from MRI, CT, X-Ray and ultrasound to AI-powered mammography, dual ring PET scanning, cardiac imaging services, interventional procedures, and more.
“We are dedicated to ensuring minimal disruption to patient care during our transition out of hospital-based services,” Hinrichs added. “Our team has been honored to work alongside many talented healthcare professionals to provide essential imaging services that play a vital role in patient diagnosis and care. We look forward to continuing our relationships with referring physicians, specialists, and patients in this new chapter.”
ImageCare will continue to accept new patients and physician referrals at all 23 of its imaging centers across the state. For more information about scheduling, new referral pathways, or to reach the team for any upcoming imaging needs.
