Prudential Financial will lay off an additional 108 employees between December and April of 2025, the company announced through a state filing.
The layoffs bring the combined total of 634 people being let go from the Newark-based company since the start of the year – and 877 in the past 13 months.
Daniel Munoz of NorthJersey.com was the first to report the news.
It is unclear what level of employees will be let go – or how much salary the company will save in doing so. It does, however, continue a trend of downsizing at the company, which has more than 40,000 employees worldwide.
- In September, the company announced it was laying off 235 employees;
- In June, the company announced it was laying off 146 employees;
- In February, the company announced it was laying off 145 employees.
- And Last November, it announced it was laying off 243 staffers, all in senior leadership positions.
NorthJersey.com said a Prudential spokesperson, in a written statement, said the company routinely eliminates “certain roles that no longer align with Prudential’s strategy.”
“Prudential Financial continually reviews its organizational structure to ensure it is meeting the evolving needs of its customers and maintaining its competitive position in the marketplace,” the spokesperson wrote.
