Riker Danzig intends to move its headquarters to a new modern, technologically advanced office at 7 Giralda Farms in Madison in July of 2025, the firm announced.
The firm, one of the oldest and most prestigious in the state, has been in Morristown for decades. This announcement completes a redesign for the modern workspace. The firm moved its New York City office to a new location (at 489 Fifth Avenue) in January of 2023.
The new space will reimagine the law firm’s layout from a compartmentalized, “siloed” office tower into a more open and vibrant atmosphere better suited for its collegial culture and team-based approach as well as an evolving hybrid office model. The 140-year-old, full-service firm, which at 135 attorneys is one of New Jersey’s largest law firms, also has an office in Trenton.
Managing Partner Michael O’Mullan said is all about the future.
“We approached our lease renewal considerations with our clients and the next generation of attorneys in mind,” he said. “Our new homebase will be far more conducive to efficiently and productively working collaboratively across all of our departments. And, like so many of our peers, we are looking toward a post-pandemic work environment that incorporates a more flexible hybrid work model and allows for evolving technology.”
For O’Mullan and the firm, Giralda Farms was it.
“Following an extensive review of our current office space and other possibilities, we determined that 7 Giralda Farms reflects our position as one of New Jersey’s most prominent law firms while providing us with an exciting platform for the future,” he said. “We were attracted to its modern open-floor design that allows us to completely reimagine our workspace, its technological capabilities, and exceptional amenities for our attorneys and staff. This space provides everything an innovative law firm needs.”
Seven Giralda Farms is a striking, park-like, 20-acre property with three floors of Class A office space, featuring a two-story atrium entrance with granite and wood accents. The multi-tenant building offers a host of efficiencies and amenities, including a café, underground parking, outdoor patio and seating areas, expansive fitness center, walking paths, upscale lounge/game room, conference space, and a bike share program.
Located off Madison Avenue in Madison, the corporate campus is easily reachable via I-287 and Route 24, with access to train stations in both Madison and Convent Station, and just down the road from Riker Danzig’s current Morristown offices. It is home to a range of global corporations and other businesses.
Executive Committee member Nicholas Racioppi, Jr., head of Riker Danzig’s real estate practice, led the lease negotiations for the firm.
“Morristown has been our home for a long time – and it was not an easy decision to leave Headquarters Plaza,” he said. “But as we considered our expanding needs and the options, it became clear that our future would be best served by investing in an enhanced office environment that would foster the collegial culture we value and provide for a fully integrated experience for our staff, our attorneys, and our clients.”
Executive Committee Co-Chair Kelly Crawford agreed.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to retool our office environment to better reflect the new way we work,” she said. “Our new home at 7 Giralda Farms is an important step forward for the people and clients of Riker Danzig into the coming decades.”
Riker Danzig will be designing the new office space to incorporate collaborative work areas, an updated office layout with hoteling, and state-of-the-art technology.
