Garden Communities’ Providence Place is borough’s first new multifamily option in decades

Construction is progressing right on schedule at Providence Place in New Providence, with rental townhomes now framed and under roof at the newly named, 192-residence luxury property. The Garden Communities’ development, the borough’s first new multifamily option in decades, is advancing toward a Spring 2025 delivery.

Located on Spring Street, the 27-acre community sits just one-half mile from N.J. Transit’s Murray Hill station. Upon completion, it will feature a mix of two- and three-bedroom townhome layouts and spacious apartments. Residents will enjoy a variety of conveniences and community spaces – including an amenity-filled clubhouse and outdoor pool, among others.

“We’re thrilled to be under roof ahead of winter weather,” Garden Communities’ Tony DiGiovanni, the property’s developer, said. “Excitement continues to build as we see this transit-friendly development taking shape in the heart of desirable New Providence. As the only modern product of its kind, Providence Place will bring a new rental option for long-time residents looking to downsize as well as newcomers to this dynamic community.”

Townhomes at Providence Place will offer private driveways and garages, while covered parking will be a feature for apartments. The entire property is surrounded by lush, mature trees and paved paths for a true suburban setting.

Providence Place’s enviable address provides distinct appeal. New Providence was ranked No. 12 on Niche.com’s 2024 “Best Places to Live in New Jersey” – the highest ranking of any community in Union County. Future residents will enjoy proximity to the borough’s vibrant downtown, Watchung Reservation, and plentiful parks and green space. The charming towns of Berkeley Heights, Summit, Chatham and Short Hills are all nearby. New Providence’s top-rated middle and high schools, and Allen W. Roberts Elementary School are all within approximately one-half mile of the property.
