Vito Mazza opens at Prism Capital Partners’ Avenue & Green in Woodbridge

Salon, spa, hair & scalp wellness center relocates to mixed-use community

Vito Mazza – a familiar presence in downtown Woodbridge for 57 years – has moved from its former home on Main Street to Prism Capital Partners’ Avenue & Green. The full-service salon, spa, and hair and scalp wellness center is a high-profile addition for the luxury multifamily/mixed-use community at 10 Green Street, adjacent to the Woodbridge train station.

The family-owned and operated business, founded by Vito Mazza, Sr. in 1967, has grown to over 40 team members trained in the latest salon, skincare, massage, nail and makeup services. Vito Mazza is also one of the few salons in the country to offer extensive Hair & Scalp Wellness services to help men and women address thinning hair and medical hair loss.

“We have evolved into a multifaceted business,” Ann Mazza, senior vice president, said. “In fact, the growth of our Hair & Scalp Wellness offering – which accounts for more than half of our business – was a key factor in our search for a new location. We wanted to provide these clients with a dedicated entry. The Prism team was instrumental in helping us create two storefronts at Avenue & Green.”

The company worked closely with Prism to maximize the 3,600-square-foot space. Salon upgrades include state-of-the-art equipment, a dedicated hair color bar and a manicure and pedicure area with digital screens to promote customer relaxation. The spa features four large treatment rooms for massage, skincare services and the latest hair removal techniques. Custom wall displays designed to honor the company’s history and the longevity of its staff marry elements of the old and new locations.

Robert Fourniadis, Prism Capital Partners’ senior vice president, residential, said the business is a welcome addition to a retail tenant roster that includes LeGrand Coffee House – led by another Woodbridge native, Eric LeGrand – and The UPS Store. “Vito Mazza has a well-earned reputation for outstanding client service and giving back to the community. We are thrilled they chose Avenue & Green as their new home, maintaining their long-time presence in downtown Woodbridge while enabling us to bring a sought-after service right to our residents’ doorsteps.”

Mazza noted that she and her husband, Vito Mazza, Jr., remain committed to supporting Woodbridge. “This community is very special to us,” she said. “Vito serves as president of the Special Improvement District; I am on the Board of Directors of the Metro Chamber of Commerce and actively involved with the Women’s Leadership Connection. Attracting new housing and retail is better for business overall, and Avenue & Green is the flagship for Woodbridge’s downtown redevelopment. We look forward to seeing what the future will bring.”

Prism Capital Partners is marketing one remaining retail space at Avenue & Green. The community’s residential component features a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom rental apartments and a full suite of upscale modern amenities, with limited availability.
