As an immigrant from El Salvador, Mazariego arrived in the U.S. at the age of 9 with his parents and brother. Committed to pursuing the American Dream, he has advocated for legislation that benefits not only the immigrant community but also the residents of New Jersey as a whole throughout his public service career.

Mazariego graduated with an associate degree from Hudson County Community College in 2014, a bachelor’s degree from Kean University in 2019 and a master’s degree from Rutgers University in 2022.
