Heart health takes center stage once again at Bridgewater Commons

Model patients: the fashion show featured heart survivors and health practitioners modeling outfits from popular retailers

Heart health took center stage once again at Bridgewater Commons. The mall, in partnership with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Somerset, an RWJBarnabas Health hospital, hosted the “Go Red Fashion Show and Health Fest” on February 22. The event, held in Center Court and the Lower Level, attracted hundreds of mall guests.

Styled and hosted by Leslie Patrizio, the fashion show featured heart survivors and health practitioners modeling outfits from popular retailers, including Athleta, Bloomingdale’s, Chico’s, Lululemon and Macy’s. The red runway came to life with their inspiring presence, while pop/rock artist Devon Marie—who has performed alongside icons such as Debbie Gibson, Paul Shaffer, Dee Snider, and Bret Michaels—delivered a free live performance.

The show included engaging activities for all ages. Attendees enjoyed an electric Double Dutch performance, friendship bracelet workshops, heart-healthy nutrition tips, blood pressure screenings, a Teddy Bear Clinic, and face painting.

Notable speakers included Bridgewater Township Mayor Matthew Moench, Somerset County Commissioner Paul Drake, RWJUH Somerset Interim Chief Administrative Officer Deirdre Blaus, and Dr. Sanjukta Sanyal, a cardiologist at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset and a member of RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group.
