Bergen New Bridge Medical Center recently opened the LGBTQ+ Health and Wellness Center. The new facility was designed by members of the LGBTQ+ community who have experience in health and community program management.
The center provides comprehensive, affirming care designed to meet their needs. From gender-affirming hormone therapy and HIV care to PrEP and primary care, the LGBTQ+ Health and Wellness Center ensures people receive the support they deserve in a welcoming environment.
“LGBT people have the same needs, generally speaking, when it comes to primary care. But then there are some unique needs like gender-affirming hormone therapy for people who are gender diverse and gender non-binary,” said Christopher Awwad, medical director. “They might also have needs like HIV treatment or HIV prevention, as well as some sexual health and treatment needs as well.”
