The Senate Legislative Oversight Committee will hold a hearing today to examine the increasing energy demands driven by artificial intelligence, according to Committee Chair Senator Andrew Zwicker.
“AI is no longer a fantasy of the future—it is a powerful force shaping our world right now, and we must prepare for the growing energy demands that come along with it,” said Zwicker (D-Middlesex/Mercer/Somerset/Hunterdon). “New Jersey strives to be a leader in AI innovation, so we must work diligently to prepare our state’s energy infrastructure while balancing environmental sustainability and economic resilience.”
The hearing is 10 a.m. in Committee Room 4 1st Floor, Statehouse Annex, Trenton. It will also be streamed on the Office of Legislative Services (OLS) website.
Invited speakers include representatives from Atlantic City Electric, PSEG, FirstEnergy Corp., PJM, TechUnited, and Ensono.
