Rowan College of South Jersey’s (RCSJ) Career & Technical Education (CTE) division is now accepting applications for its next cohort of the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) program, set to begin on April 14. Designed to meet growing demand in the health care industry, the program equips students with the skills and credentials required for roles in primary care offices, urgent care centers, and other medical facilities.
The curriculum covers both administrative and clinical competencies, including patient history documentation, vital sign recording, assisting with exams, administering injections, performing venipunctures, and conducting ECGs. Upon completing classroom instruction, students will gain hands-on experience through a 100-hour externship at a local health care facility.
Graduates will be eligible to earn three National Healthcare Career Association (NHA) certifications:
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- Certified EKG Technician (CET)
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
Additionally, students will obtain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR for Health Care Professionals certification.
The deadline to apply for the CCMA program is April 7, with limited seats available.
Prospective students can learn more at one of four upcoming information sessions to be held at 10 a.m. March 19, March 27, April 3, and April 10 at the RCSJ Arts & Innovation Center, 321 N. High St., Millville, N.J.
Attendance at an information session is not required for enrollment, but it offers an opportunity to ask questions and gain insight into the program.
