Rutgers Center for Women in Business names associate director

The Center for Women in Business (CWIB) at Rutgers Business School has appointed marketing strategist Beth Gellert as its new associate director.

Gellert, a seasoned strategy and marketing leader with more than 25 years of experience, will oversee program development, foster strategic partnerships and drive the center’s growth initiatives.

“As we celebrate CWIB’s fifth anniversary, we are proud of our robust body of actionable research, impactful programming and thriving community of over 6,900 members dedicated to advancing women in business,” said Lisa Kaplowitz, CWIB co-founder and executive director. “As we enter our next chapter, we are excited to expand our team and accelerate our mission. With Beth’s help, we look forward to partnering with more individuals and organizations to foster workplaces that work for everyone.”

Gellert’s career spans finance, consumer products and nonprofit organizations. She began as a certified public accountant at KPMG before moving into brand management at LeapFrog, where she helped launch the LittleTouch LeapPad franchise, a “Toy of the Year” winner that sold 4 million units in its first two years. At Levi Strauss & Co., she led global strategy initiatives, including efforts to revolutionize the company’s approach to innovation. More recently, she has provided consulting services to startups and established firms, helping develop and implement business growth strategies.

“I am incredibly excited to join the CWIB team and contribute to its mission of removing barriers, building community and empowering women,” Gellert said. “I am passionate about advancing women and leveraging my strategy background to accelerate our impact.”

Gellert has also been active in community engagement and mentorship, serving as a Girl Scouts troop leader for more than a decade and advocating for greater female representation in politics. She holds a business degree from the University of Michigan’s Ross School and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, where she was named the top marketing student in her graduating class.

The Center for Women in Business at Rutgers Business School aims to advance and empower women in the workplace through education, opportunity and thought leadership.
