Heather Remley becomes president, CEO of BASF Corp.

BASF Corp. announced Tuesday that Heather Remley has been appointed president and CEO. She will lead the company’s North American operations, which represent the largest affiliate of BASF SE, a global leader in the chemical industry. 

Remley joined BASF in 2016 and brings extensive global leadership experience to her new role. She most recently served as president of BASF’s global engineering services division, based in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Prior to that, she was senior vice president of BASF’s petrochemicals business in North America, based in Houston. 

“We are delighted to welcome Heather back home to the United States as president and CEO,” said Anup Kothari, member of the board of executive directors of BASF SE and responsible for North America. “Her leadership and industry expertise will be instrumental in enabling our operating divisions and service units in the U.S. while driving a winning culture aligned with our global strategy.” 

A native of Pennsylvania, Remley holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College and an MBA from Boston College. 

“I am honored to take on this role and lead our talented team in one of BASF’s most important markets,” Remley said. “Having worked across the globe, I’m excited to return to the U.S. and continue building on our culture of innovation, performance and passion for chemistry.”
