Englewood Health has named Dr. Jennifer Marti as chief of breast surgery and medical director of the Breast Cancer Program at The Lefcourt Family Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center.
A board-certified breast and endocrine surgical oncologist, Marti brings extensive clinical and academic experience to the role. She specializes in treating both benign and malignant breast conditions, with a focus on ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), invasive breast cancer, and care for high-risk patients, including BRCA mutation carriers. Her expertise includes hidden-scar lumpectomy, nipple-sparing mastectomy, and newer approaches to DCIS using hormone therapy and active surveillance.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Marti to our breast cancer team,” said Dr. Cherif Boutros, medical director of the center. “Her expertise and leadership will further strengthen Englewood Health’s position as a leader in breast health care.”
Marti joins from Mount Sinai, where she served as an attending surgeon and associate professor of surgery. She previously held leadership roles at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital. A prolific researcher, Marti has published more than 50 peer-reviewed studies and led clinical trials focused on personalized care and improving shared decision-making in breast cancer treatment.
“As chief of breast surgery, I’m proud to lead a multidisciplinary team dedicated to offering patients the most advanced, personalized treatment options available,” Marti said. “Our goal is to improve outcomes while supporting patients every step of the way.”
Marti earned her medical degree from NYU Grossman School of Medicine and completed her residency at NYU Langone Medical Center. She completed fellowships in breast surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and endocrine surgery at Yale School of Medicine. She is fluent in Spanish.
