Englewood Hospital has once again been named one of the top hospitals in the nation for maternity care, earning a spot on Newsweek’s 2025 list of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals for the fourth consecutive year.
The recognition, awarded in partnership with Statista Inc., highlights hospitals that excel in clinical quality, patient satisfaction, and peer recommendations across maternity services.
“This honor reflects the commitment of our clinical teams to deliver safe, high-quality care for mothers and newborns—from prenatal services through delivery and postpartum support,” said Valerie M. French, MBA, BSN, RNC-LRN, senior director of nursing for maternal/child health. “Consistency in recognition like this reinforces the value of our patient-centered model.”
Englewood Hospital’s maternity program—anchored by the Karen and Gary Singer Family Birth Place—provides a full range of services including high-risk pregnancy care, on-site maternal-fetal medicine specialists, and a modern neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The facility features private rooms and a multidisciplinary team trained to handle complex cases.
Dr. Arthur Gross, chief of obstetrics and gynecology, said the designation underscores the hospital’s operational standards and patient outcomes. “We are laser-focused on safety and patient experience,” he said. “Our entire team works toward ensuring exceptional outcomes, and this national recognition is a direct reflection of that dedication.”
Hospitals included in the Newsweek list were selected based on publicly available quality metrics, patient surveys, and input from healthcare professionals with expertise in maternity care.
Englewood Health is one of New Jersey’s leading health systems and continues to invest in clinical programs, specialty services, and care innovations aimed at expanding access to high-quality care in Bergen County and across the region.
