Greenbaum Rowe names Barbara Koonz managing partner

Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP has named Barbara J. Koonz as its new managing partner, effective April 1.

Koonz, who joined the firm in 2019, becomes the fourth managing partner in the firm’s more than 100-year history. A seasoned environmental and energy attorney, she has played a key role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction in recent years.

“I’m energized by this opportunity and look forward to building upon Greenbaum’s proud legacy,” Koonz said in a statement. “The legal profession is undergoing a fundamental shift, and I believe we are well positioned to meet that challenge and serve our clients effectively.”

With more than 30 years of legal and geological expertise, Koonz advises domestic and international clients on regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, renewable and clean energy projects, waterfront and coastal developments, and solid waste facility operations.

She is a Fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers and an active member of multiple legal and industry organizations, including the American, Energy, and New Jersey State Bar Associations, NAIOP NJ, the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association, and the New Jersey Builders Association.

Koonz also serves on the board of Middlesex County’s ASAP program and the New Jersey Lawyers Assistance Program (NJLAP) Board of Trustees.
