Thomas C. Rust was named the Trenton Downtown Association’s executive director, it was announced Thursday.
Rust is a business executive and community advocate who has more than three decades of expertise in operations, marketing, finance and business development.
“I am honored to step into this role at such a pivotal time for Trenton,” said Rust, a native of Trenton. “Downtown Trenton has so much to offer, from its rich history to its strong entrepreneurial spirit. TDA is entering an exciting new phase, and I’m thrilled to bring my energy, ideas and appreciation for Trenton’s history and future to this position. I believe we can strengthen the downtown economy while preserving what makes Trenton unique.”
Rust has served in executive leadership positions at Comcast Wireless, Princeton Power Systems, and NRG Investment Partners LLC.
Rust has served on the boards of multiple chambers of commerce and has been recognized for his commitment to civic involvement in business publications. He has experience in public-private partnerships, urban development and growing small businesses, assets that support TDA’s mission to promote Trenton’s downtown district.
