Hudson Gives aims to top $1 million in annual online giving day

Hudson Gives, Hudson County’s annual online giving day, is set for Thursday, May 8. The effort is taking on greater urgency as community leaders and others have raised concerns about the impact of federal funding reductions.

“In a year when 70% of our nonprofits risk losing federal funding, we exhort residents, commuters and businesses to support agencies who work tirelessly to serve our community and make positive change,” said Emory Edwards, president of the Hudson County Chamber Foundation, which operates Hudson Gives.

This is the seventh annual giving day run by Hudson Gives. Nearly 100 nonprofits are participating, and the program is aiming to top its $1 million goal.

“Hudson Gives isn’t just a giving day, it’s our community’s moment to radiate compassion and strength,” Robinson Holloway of Arts 14C and co-chair of Hudson Gives, said. “By giving locally, we become architects of a stronger, more vibrant Hudson County.”

In its first six years, the initiative has raised more than $4 million for the nonprofit community. In 2024, more than $924,000 was raised by over 4,000 donors that directly benefited 88 nonprofit members of the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce.

This online giving day is the 24 hours of May 8, 2025. However, the HudsonGives.org website is now open for donations.

Hudson Gives is a program of the Hudson County Chamber Foundation, which is aligned with the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce. It is led by its Nonprofit Network and co-chairs Robinson Holloway (Art Fair 14C) and Christine Perez (York Street Project).
