Erica Connor of Manasquan Bank received the New Jersey Bankers Association Excellence in Diversity Award earlier this month during the association’s annual DEI Summit.
The award recognizes an NJBankers member who has made significant achievements toward creating a more diverse and inclusive banking community.
Connor is Manasquan Bank’s assistant vice president, human resources manager, and has worked at the bank for nearly a decade. She is also a member of NJBankers DEI Council.
Connor was cited for her leadership qualities in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion that have had a positive effect on her community. She is involved in various community organizations that promote diversity and inclusion; participates in financial literacy initiatives aimed at empowering low- and moderate-income communities; has created a TEAMS channel where she posts multicultural content; and led employee volunteerism programs within Manasquan Bank’s communities.
“I am grateful to be a part of an institution where I have the encouragement and autonomy to work in the DEI space. Human resources can be challenging at times but for me, fulfillment comes when you know you are fully supported and able to share your viewpoint in order to drive change,” she said during a speech at the DEI Summit.
The New Jersey Bankers Association was founded over 118 years ago and is a trade association representing 65 banks and 200 service providers.
