TD Bank has announced that it is closing 38 branches across 10 states, including New Jersey, and Washington, D.C., on June 5, as part of a move to “optimize” its operations.
The closings include the following N.J. locations:
- 85 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove
- 1 Royal Road, Flemington
- 670 Laurel Ave., Holmdel
- 191 E. Route 70, Marlton
- 145 Skyline Drive, Ringwood
- 555 Warren Ave., Spring Lake Heights
Other states include Connecticut, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia, as well as Washington, D.C.
A TD Bank representative said in a statement, “As part of our ongoing strategic and business-as-usual reviews of TD’s retail locations, we evaluate things like store traffic, customer needs, product use and community landscape to determine any needed changes to our physical network.
“We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for our impacted customers and colleagues and look forward to continuing to provide legendary service via one of our approximately 1,100 stores or any channel our customers choose.”
TD Bank has been dealing with several issues including the $3 billion it had to pay to resolve a money-laundering probe in which the company pleaded guilty to conspiracy and money laundering. And in 2024, it closed dozens of locations nationwide due to a decline of in-person banking.
