Badie named partner at Frier Levitt

Frier Levitt, a national law firm focused on health care and life sciences, announced that David W. Badie has joined the firm as a partner in the health care practice group. Badie brings extensive experience advising health care institutions, providers and corporations on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters, further strengthening Frier Levitt’s nationally recognized health care practice.

Badie joins Frier Levitt from University Hospital in Newark, where he served as associate general counsel in the legal, corporate and external relations group. In that role, he advised the hospital’s C-Suite and executive leadership teams on business operations, corporate governance, health care compliance, litigation strategy and risk management for one of the state’s premier academic medical institutions and Level I Trauma Centers.

Previously, he held leadership positions at both a large national law firm and New Jersey health care boutique firm where he worked in the New Jersey and York health-care and medical malpractice practice groups and represented major health care networks in multiple jurisdictions throughout the country. His deep knowledge spans regulatory compliance, professional liability, employment law and litigation.

“David’s breadth of experience as both in-house counsel and private practice litigator gives him a unique and valuable perspective that will directly benefit our health-care and life sciences clients nationwide,” said founding partner Daniel B. Frier. “We are pleased to welcome David as the newest partner at Frier Levitt.”

A frequent speaker at leading health care institutions and a published author on health-care risk management topics, Badie is recognized as a leader in the legal field. His accolades include being named a 2023 NJBIZ Forty Under 40 honoree, a New Jersey Law Journal “New Leader of the Bar” and a Super Lawyers Rising Star for multiple consecutive years.

Badie earned his J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law and his B.S. in business administration with a concentration in economics from Montclair State University. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.

“I am excited to join Frier Levitt’s outstanding team of attorneys,” said Badie. “The firm’s deep focus on health care and life sciences is an ideal match for my experience and passion for helping organizations navigate complex corporate, regulatory and litigation challenges.”
