Virtua Health was named as one of the country’s best health-care brands, according to a new report by Monigle, a brand consultancy. The New Jersey not-for-profit health system was ranked 40th in the nation, is the highest-ranked health-system brand in New Jersey, and the second-highest ranked in both the Philadelphia and New York markets.
This is Virtua’s second consecutive top-40 appearance in Monigle’s annual Humanizing Brand Experience report. The report ranks more than 200 health-care brands based on consumer feedback and engagement, using Monigle’s scoring system.
Virtua improved its ranking in every major category over the prior year, including consumer feedback on reputation, intent to use services, advocacy, and satisfaction.
“Monigle’s research helps us better understand what’s most important to our patients and community so we can best meet their needs,” said Chrisie Scott, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Virtua. “Today’s consumer not only wants excellent care. They want providers who truly listen to them and see them as a unique individual. They want easy access to services and responsiveness from their care team, to name just a few important preferences.”
Monigle’s report considers four “drivers” – sensorial, intellectual, emotional, and behavioral – that shape how people sense, think, feel, and act in response to a brand. Study participants are asked about their first-hand knowledge of health systems in their region and also weigh in on less tangible qualities like positive “buzz.”
Grant Mason, head of behavioral insights at Monigle, said, “Brand matters in health care. It impacts choice, loyalty, and patient satisfaction. The brands that are most effective, like Virtua, pay attention to what people want and need, and create strong connections with their patients and communities.”
