While most guests at the Joint Base MDL Open House and Air Show kept their eyes to the skies, there was plenty to grab their attention along the flightline as well – children’s activities, vendors offering food, drink, souvenirs and information.

Guests along the flightline had the chance to meet and mingle with many of the performers including the flight and maintenance crews of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

Dozens of modern and historic aircraft were available on the flightline for guests examine and tour.

A spectacular view from the flightline – the Air Force’s massive C17 Globemaster on the ground and the Marine’s CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter in the air flanked by an AH-1Z Viper Attack Helicopter and a UH-1Y Venom Utility Chopper.

There was live music along the flightline from the 78th Army Band, part of the U.S. Army Reserve.

Members of the 514th Air Mobility Wing were one of many military units sharing information and memorabilia with guests along the flightline.

The jumbotrons along the flightline provided spectacular views for guests during both days of the air show.
