
Oceantic Network Ventus Awards. –
The Oceantic Network announced that the NJEDA Wind Institute Fellowship Program won the 2025 Talent Management Leadership Award. Its website stated the awards are “the industry’s highest level of professional recognition, celebrating the trailblazing people, companies, organizations and work worldwide, ushering in the global adoption of offshore wind energy.”
Winners represent the breadth of the offshore wind supply chain, from small businesses and multinational corporations, to organizations and educational institutions.”
“NJEDA’s Wind Institute Fellowship is helping us grow the kind of diverse, interdisciplinary talent this industry needs,” said Liz Burdock, president and CEO of Oceantic Network. “By investing in students and fostering collaboration across universities, NJEDA is cultivating leaders who will guide this industry into the future.”
The Fellowship Program began in 2022 and offers students at selected New Jersey public and private universities paid research fellowships to prepare them for careers in the offshore wind industry, with opportunities available for undergraduate and graduate students. NJEDA announced its expansion in 2023.
“The Wind Institute Fellowship is a one-of-a-kind, multiuniversity initiative that offers opportunity for New Jersey students to be at the forefront of scientific inquiry that advances knowledge-building, research, and innovation for offshore wind,” said Jen Becker, executive vice president for Clean Energy and Workforce Innovation at the NJEDA.
“As an interdisciplinary initiative covering fields such as marine science, environmental studies, coastal zone management, sustainability, geography, engineering, law, economics and other fields, the Fellowship provides invaluable skills and experiences that sets our fellows on a trajectory to be the future leaders of realizing a just clean energy transition,” added Becker.
