Foodies enjoying Jersey City’s culinary scene are about to get another major addition. BRBQ, the newest concept from acclaimed DOMODOMO co-owners Jae Park and Brian Kim, is set to open June 20 at Journal Square Urby, delivering Korean-American cuisine, wood-fired flavors, and café energy to the heart of one of the city’s fastest-growing neighborhoods.
The duo behind DOMODOMO, who earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction in Manhattan before expanding to Jersey City in 2019, have become key players in the local dining scene. ONDO, their waterfront hotspot, opened shortly after the opening of DOMODOMO Jersey City, and now BRBQ marks their third concept in Hudson County’s biggest city. The latest destination is at the base of the 25-story Urby tower, at Located at 532 Summit Ave., directly across from the Journal Square PATH station.
The full menu won’t be revealed until the restaurant opens, the all-day BRBQ will be serving brunch and dinner, with a laid-back lounge atmosphere and a menu that favors smoky, wood-fired cooking and bold Asian-American flavors. Signature dishes include Double side cut – LA Galbi (Korean BBQ Short Ribs) and Mochi Pancakes.

Journal Square Urby features 317 new apartments and was designed by Amsterdam-based firm Concrete, with HLW serving as the executive architect. The property also features a 25-story mural by Felipe Pantone, an internationally acclaimed artist.
