Daylight Transport, a national leader in expedited LTL freight transportation, announced the grand opening of its brand-new cross-dock facility in Jersey City. To commemorate this milestone, Daylight will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 605 Tonnelle Avenue in Jersey City.

The new 11.5-acre terminal, developed with environmental responsibility, includes full soil remediation of a previously contaminated site and upgrades to city infrastructure, including a modernized sanitary pump station and safer public sidewalks on Tonnelle Avenue. The facility has already contributed to 70 new, well-paying jobs in the area and increased local property tax revenue by $250,000 annually.

The event promises to be a memorable celebration of community, innovation and growth, with family-friendly activities, BBQ lunch, exclusive tours of the facility and a chance to connect with the people behind one of America’s fastest, most reliable freight carriers.

“This facility represents our long-term investment in our people and the great city of Jersey City,” said Greg Steele, president of Daylight Transport. “With the support of the city, county and state, we’ve revitalized this land, assembled four separate parcels — three of which were unused and underperforming — and transformed it into a state-of-the-art terminal that brings both economic vitality and community pride.”

Event highlights to include:

  • Ribbon-cutting ceremony with city leaders and Daylight executives
  • Facility tours showcasing Daylight’s operational excellence and technology
  • BBQ Lunch served fresh for all guests
  • Exclusive gift bags with premium Daylight Transport merchandise
  • Games & prizes for the whole family
  • Opportunities to learn about Daylight’s rich history and culture of speed, quality and innovation

Daylight Transport extends a warm invitation to the Jersey City community, customers, partners and families to join the celebration.
