International Process Plants names Schwartz chief operating officer

International Process Plants, the world’s largest seller of complete industrial process plants, systems and equipment, said June 17 it has appointed Scott J. Schwartz chief operating officer.

Schwartz has more than 20 years of experience in the global chemicals and materials sectors, including senior leadership roles at Arkema, Perstorp and Isolatek International.

In his new role, Schwartz will oversee IPP’s worldwide operations and strategic initiatives aimed at expanding the company’s global footprint and scaling its differentiated asset solutions across the process manufacturing industry. As COO, Schwartz will lead efforts to enhance operational efficiency to support the advancing of key strategic initiatives that deliver turnkey value to clients in the chemical, pharmaceutical and process manufacturing sectors.

“I am very excited to be joining the IPP leadership team and to be working closely with its founders to accelerate its growth and global presence while positioning the company for an exciting future,” Schwartz said.

Schwartz most recently served from 2018 to 2024 as chief executive officer and board member of Isolatek International, a global manufacturer of fire protection materials.

Prior to that, he served as managing director NA for Perstorp’s specialty and solutions division and held executive leadership roles at Arkema, where he led the company’s functional additives and surfactants unit and served as group president NA for the thiochemicals division. He had global leadership roles in the U.S. and France.
