The New Jersey Hospital Association said June 17 that Jason Friedman joined its senior leadership team as vice president of managed care and healthcare financing.
Friedman has served in both healthcare provider and payer organizations. His expertise in managed care and revenue-cycle management will support NJHA’s work as providers confront mounting challenges related to growing patient needs, an aging population, rising costs, slim margins, increasing regulation, and shifting health policy.
Previously, he was director of network management at Elevance Health.
Friedman has served in roles at WellPoint NJ (formerly Amerigroup), Hackensack Meridian Health, Atlantic Health System and Summit Health.
“New Jersey hospitals deliver best-in-the nation care, but they must maintain a margin to support the mission,” said NJHA President and CEO Cathy Bennett. “Jason brings a new level of expertise as providers navigate great challenges including payer delays, denials, and red tape. “Having served on both sides of these issues, Jason also understands the impact on healthcare consumers. He shares NJHA’s commitment to protecting New Jerseyans from insurance bureaucracy interfering with their care.”
Friedman said he was “honored to step into this new role at NJHA during a pivotal time when healthcare conversations are a new daily norm in each home across the state,” said Friedman.
The New Jersey Hospital Association is a not-for-profit trade organization whose mission is to deliver support and services to the state’s hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare providers.
