First Environment gets remedial design services contract with DEP

First Environment Inc., which specializes in environmental engineering and consulting, has been awarded a $9 million, three-year contract with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for engineering design services to support the environmental restoration of contaminated properties throughout New Jersey.

“First Environment is pleased to continue our long history of delivering superior remedial investigation and design services throughout New Jersey. Further, this award allows us to leverage additional company expertise complementary to site restoration, including natural resource management, litigation support, and licensed site remediation professional services,” said Devin DeMarco, First Environment’s Market area director, government programs.

Under the contract, First Environment will partner with subconsultants HDR and MFS Engineers & Surveyors to fully support a wide range of projects across the state.

Based in Butler, First Environment specializes in solving and mediating complex environmental challenges facing federal and municipal agencies, public entities, and private organizations. Founded in 1987 by Dr. Tod Delaney, a U.S. Army veteran, First Environment’s core service areas include site investigation and remediation, natural resource management, regulatory compliance support, environmental planning, greenhouse gas management and verification, litigation support, and insurance support services. The firm has several offices across the United States.

HDR is an employee-owned firm specializing in architecture, engineering, environmental and construction services. It has offices in Newark, Pennington, and Woodcliff Lake.
