Carrie L. Scattergood named first female managing partner at Rothkoff Law Group

Elder care law firm Rothkoff Law Group announced that Carrie L. Scattergood has been named managing partner, recognizing her outstanding dedication to elder care law and her continued leadership within the firm.

Additionally, she is the first female to be named partner at the firm, marking a milestone in the firm’s 25-year history of elder law advocacy across New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Scattergood has long been a compassionate and trusted advocate for older adults, individuals with disabilities and the families who care for them. A practicing attorney licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, she brings a unique perspective to her work, grounded in empathy, respect and a deep understanding of the complexities facing her clients. Her areas of focus include elder law, estate planning, asset protection, guardianships and life care planning.

“Carrie has an extraordinary way of meeting clients where they are, guiding them through difficult life transitions with both legal skill and heartfelt compassion,” said Jerry Rothkoff, senior partner and shareholder. “She exemplifies the spirit and mission of our firm, and her promotion to partner is a reflection of her leadership and unwavering commitment to the families we serve.”

Before joining Rothkoff Law Group, Scattergood earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rutgers University and her Juris Doctor from Widener University Delaware Law School. She began her legal career as a clerk for the Honorable James F. Mulvihill, J.S.C., in Middlesex County, and later practiced law alongside her father. In addition to her legal work, she leads a dedicated team of associate attorneys, paralegals and elder care professionals.

“Carrie has a remarkable way of making complex legal matters feel manageable for families during life’s most overwhelming moments,” said Bryan J. Adler, senior partner at Rothkoff Law Group. “Her promotion is a reflection of the trust she’s earned, the integrity she carries and the difference she makes every single day.”

Scattergood is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Pennsylvania Association of Elder Law Attorneys and both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar Associations. She often presents on elder law topics throughout the region and resides in Mercer County.
