Three major job fairs set for Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst this summer

For New Jersey employers looking for highly qualified, disciplined and dependable job candidates, there will be three major job fairs at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst this summer. These events historically draw hundreds of active military, veterans and their wives with experience in fields ranging from engineering and construction, to security, to communication and human resources. 

July 11  

On July 11, the 514th Air Mobility Wing’s will host its annual career fair. 

The Family Readiness Center at the Joint Base will team with the 514th – also known as the “Freedom Wing”  to host a job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tommy B.’s Community Center at 2705 East Arnold Ave. on the Joint Base.  

This event is open to all reserve, guard, active-duty and civilian employees.  

Last year the participating companies included various public and private companies.  

To prepare for the job fair, potential candidates can attend a Lunchtime Learning Session on June 7 – “Preparing for a Career Day” at the Family Readiness Center at 3435 Broidy Road on the Joint Base from 12:30-1:30 pm.

July 31 

Hiring our Heroes will be back with its annual career day on July 31. 

Hiring Our Heroes is a non-profit arm of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and it always hosts one of the largest military-themed job fairs in the state.  

This one will begin at 9:30 am with job seeker workshops at the Joint Base Theater,  2909 Tuskegee Airman Ave. on the Joint Base. These workshops will continue through noon. 

The job fair will follow from 1:30 to 4:30 at Tommie B.’s Community Center, 2705 East Arnold Ave. on the Joint Base.  

Hiring Our Heroes had more than 60 employers attend last year, and based on previous fairs, Hiring Our Heroes estimates an offer rate of 40 percent.

September 4 

The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) will host a job fair at Tommie B.’s Community Center, 2095 East Arnold Ave. from 11 am to 3 pm  on September 4. The DAV events on average draw 50 or more companies and the job opportunities usually range from local to statewide to national.
