The Wetlands Institute welcomed over 200 supporters and friends to its Donor Appreciation Open House, held at the Institute’s scenic campus. The event served as a heartfelt thank-you to the many individuals, businesses, partners and organizations whose generosity fuels the Institute’s mission to promote appreciation, understanding and stewardship of wetlands and coastal ecosystems through its programs in research, conservation and education.
Guests enjoyed an evening of connection, exploration and inspiration as they mingled with staff, board members and interns. A highlight of the evening was remarks from The Wetlands Institute’s Executive Director, Dr. Lenore Tedesco, who shared numerous accomplishments and presented a bold and visionary pathway for the Institute’s future.
“Our progress is only possible because of the passionate support of our donor community,” said Tedesco. “This event was created to celebrate all we’ve achieved together, celebrate major milestones and to set our sights on the impactful work that lies ahead.”
Guests saw the completion of restoration work in the marshes adjacent to the Institute last winter and learned about upcoming projects that will continue to develop cutting-edge and innovative approaches to build resilience for the Institute and coastal communities.
The Wetlands Institute invites the community to continue the celebration at the Summer Celebration on July 26 at ICONA Avalon, the Institute’s signature fundraising event. Tickets are available, and they are expected to sell quickly. Proceeds from the event help advance conservation programs, community education and scientific research.
