Preferred Behavioral Health Group (PBHG), a provider of mental health and wellness services in New Jersey since 1978, announced July 11 the appointment of Kristen De Martino and Kenneth M. Karamichael to its board of trustees, filling two open seats.

The organization said the new board members “bring a wealth of experience, passion, and commitment to advancing PBHG’s mission of delivering compassionate, innovative, and accessible behavioral health care to individuals and families across the region.”

Dr. Tara Chalakani, CEO of Preferred Behavioral Health Group, said in a statement that “their professional expertise and deep passion for mental health will be invaluable as we continue to grow and respond to the needs of our communities.”

The new trustees join PBHG as the organization expands its services and partnerships throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties. The board plays a role in guiding the organization’s strategic vision and ensuring high-quality care for all those served.

Preferred Behavioral Health Group is dedicated to helping individuals achieve wellness through a comprehensive range of programs for children, adolescents, adults, and families – including mental health counseling, addiction treatment, supportive housing, and prevention services.
