FIFA World Cup 2026 NYNJ Host Committee announces $3.3B economic impact

The FIFA World Cup 2026 New York New Jersey (NYNJ) Host Committee rang the Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) July 21, commemorating the Final Match taking place at “New York New Jersey Stadium” – aka MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford – on July 19, 2026.

During the ceremony, Host Committee Chair Tammy Murphy announced that the NYNJ region is projected to generate $3.3 billion in economic impact, according to a new Economic Impact Summary released by the Host Committee and developed in partnership with Tourism Economics, an Oxford Economics Company specializing in global forecasting and quantitative analysis.

“The World Cup is not just a global sporting event — it’s a powerful economic engine that will deliver lasting benefits to our region,” said NYNJ Host Committee Chair Tammy Murphy. “In less than one year from today, more than one billion people around the world will be watching as the FIFA World Cup Final kicks off at NYNJ Stadium. The countdown is on for this once-in-a-generation opportunity to showcase our region on the world stage.
