Nordstrom Rack opening store in Deptford to grow Philadelphia presence

Upscale fashion retailer Nordstrom Inc. said July 23 it plans to open a Nordstrom Rack store in Deptford Township in fall 2026. Nordstrom Rack is the off-price division of the tony retailer.

“We look forward to being a part of the Deptford community and serving our customers with an amazing offering of great brands at great prices,” said Gemma Lionello, president of Nordstrom Rack. “We’re excited to grow our footprint in the Philadelphia market and introduce new customers to the Nordstrom experience.” Deptford, a township of about 32,000 people, is less than 13 miles driving distance from Philadelphia.

The 24,500 square-foot store will be located in Deptford Town Center, a shopping center that includes an Aldi, First Watch, and Tractor Supply. Deptford Town Center is owned and managed by MSP Developments and is on the southeast corner of Deptford Center Road and Almonesson Road, just south of the Deptford Mall and between routes 55 and 42.

“This high-visibility, high-traffic location is a natural fit for a brand known for quality and style,” said Mitchol S. Pappan, owner of MSP Developments and developer of Deptford Town Center.  “We’re confident Nordstrom Rack will not only thrive here but become a long-standing favorite in the community for years to come.”

As the off-price division of the Seattle-based company, Nordstrom Rack plays an important role in Nordstrom’s Closer to You strategy, which focuses on delivering customers a more convenient and interconnected experience across its stores and digital platforms.

Nordstrom Rack offers customers up to 70% off on-trend apparel, accessories, beauty products, home decor and shoes from many of the top brands sold at Nordstrom stores. Nordstrom said Nordstrom Rack is the largest source of new customers to Nordstrom.

This new location expands the company’s physical footprint in New Jersey. Nordstrom operates four stores and nine Nordstrom Rack stores in the Garden State and more than 1,600 jobs.
