The law firm Archer & Greiner, with four offices in New Jersey, said Aug. 7 it is launching its political law and compliance practice group to offer counsel on campaign finance, lobbying, ethics, and government compliance.
The new practice will be co-chaired by partners Jason Sena and David Weinstein, both of whom have experience in state and local government relations, compliance, and public policy.
Christopher Gibson, Archer president, said, “This new practice group reflects Archer’s continued commitment to staying ahead of our clients’ needs in a complex legal and regulatory environment. The political law and compliance practice group will further strengthen our ability to deliver high-level, strategic counsel to clients involved in all facets of the political process.”
The launch of this practice comes at a time when businesses and advocacy groups face increased oversight and enforcement involving campaign contributions, pay-to-play restrictions, lobbying disclosure, and political transparency. Law firms are expanding into state-level compliance as local laws become more complex.
Archer’s new group will serve businesses, trade associations, nonprofits, political action committees, lobbying firms, candidates, political parties, contributors, and others engaged in the political and electoral process.
“Our political law and compliance practice group is a natural evolution of Archer’s longstanding work advising clients at the intersection of law, public policy, and politics,” said Sena, co-chair of the group. “With heightened legal scrutiny and a rapidly changing regulatory landscape, clients need forward-thinking, practical guidance to stay compliant and achieve their goals.”
Weinstein, co-chair of the group, added, “Our team understands both the complexities of the law and the operational realities of political engagement. That combination allows us to deliver strategic, real-world counsel to help clients mitigate risk while navigating campaigns, elections, lobbying, and government processes.”
The group will provide legal counsel for campaign activities, ballot initiatives, political advocacy, campaign finance, lobbying regulations, ethics requirements, government contracting, and investigations, at the federal, state, and local levels.
Archer & Greiner’s New Jersey offices are in Princeton, Voorhees, Red Bank, and Hackensack. The firm has 175 attorneys working in nine offices.
