Health policy veteran Ford joins hospital association as VP

Robin Ford, whose health care experience includes serving as deputy commissioner of health systems at the N.J. Department of Health, has joined the New Jersey Hospital Association as vice president of health care reimbursement.

“New Jersey is a national leader in health-care excellence,” says Ford. “I’m excited for this new opportunity – serving NJHA and the members who care deeply about delivering quality, accessible health care to communities across our state.”

Ford’s experience includes a deep understanding of the licensing and financing of New Jersey’s health care facilities gained during her six years of working at the state Department of Health.

Prior to that, she was an analyst at the Office of Legislative Services for more than 12 years, primarily focused on budget analysis, policy and legislation related to the departments of Banking and Insurance, Health, Human Services, and Labor and Workforce Development. She most recently worked as government relations officer at the New Jersey Innovation Institute.

“Robin has an unparalleled depth of knowledge of the policy and fiscal challenges facing health-care providers, particularly in the area of payment for care delivered under programs like Medicaid and charity care,” said NJHA President and CEO Cathy Bennett. “She will be an invaluable resource as our members work to preserve essential care amid $3.3 billion in Medicaid cuts under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.”

The New Jersey Hospital Association is a nonprofit trade association with a membership of 400 hospitals, health systems and post-acute care providers across the state. NJHA partners with its members to provide quality, affordable, accessible and equitable health care to their communities.
