First Environment, Inc., an environmental consulting and engineering firm, said Sept. 5 it named Devin DeMarco as vice president of business development. He was formerly market area director of government services.

In this new role, DeMarco will oversee the company’s strategic growth objectives, expand market presence regionally and nationally, further teaming relationships, and pursue contract opportunities that foster long-term financial strength.

DeMarco joined First Environment in 2008 and has more than 25 years’ experience in environmental consulting serving commercial/industrial clients and all levels of government. During his tenure with the firm, he has managed multiple practice areas covering an array of services, expanded technical service offerings, and spearheaded the development of teaming relationships and joint ventures that have proved key to higher-value contract award and successful execution.

For the past seven years, he has served as program manager for the company’s prime environmental consulting services contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – New York District, supporting the district’s civil works mission and military environmental programs throughout the Mid-Atlantic states.

“Over the past 15 years, Devin has consistently demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic vision, and an exceptional ability to ensure the firm consistently meets technical delivery and revenue-based performance goals,” said Tod Delaney, founder and president of First Environment.

“His diverse technical and industry expertise, collaborative relationships with private and public partners, and keen business acumen position him to successfully meet First Environment’s strategic growth objectives.”

First Environment is based in Butler and is an environmental engineering consulting firm specializing in litigation support and expert testimony, site investigation and remediation, federal and state program management/regulatory compliance, and sustainability and greenhouse gas consulting.
